Hi there! Whether you've been here for a while or if it's your first time visiting, I thought it was about time I wrote a fresh introduction post.
I'm Katherine Anne Payson. I'm a Christian, proud kitty mama, and all-around geek, living with dyslexia and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I'm also an Indie author who adores stories in all forms.
I first started telling my own stories when I was around 6, and first put colored pencil to paper with the purpose of writing, at age 9. Despite my early start, I've always had problems with writing due to my dyslexia... but I didn't let that stop me from Indie publishing my debut novel, The Shoreline of Memory, on July 4th, 2020.
While I think it's a little sad that I have to note this, I recognize that it's important to say: I write my own books. I do not use generative AI in any part of my books or posts. While I do use Grammarly, I have all generative AI features toggled off, and use it solely to check or correct the words I've already written. All thoughts, ideas, and the writing itself are handled by me and my amazing team of Alpha/Beta readers. And yes, this applies to my book covers as well.
Now that the introductions are out of the way, I should probably give you a quick tour of this space.
A relatively short time ago, I used this space mainly for blogging. While I still write monthly round-up posts documenting all the things going on in my life as an Indie author, I no longer have time to write weekly posts. But you can always check out my blog through the Blog Archive tool, or find posts organized by topic using the Labels.
You can find all my books under the "Books" tab. Whenever I have active sales, I will also add a "Sales" tab.
The "How to Write a Zebra" tab is where I keep my series of writing advice for those interested in writing characters with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
Finally, the "Author Toolkit" tab will bring you to a carefully curated collection of links that I believe no author should be without.
If you're interested, you can also check out my other social media accounts under the "Follow me here!" tool.
If you find any of this interesting, then welcome! I hope you decide to stick along for the ride.
As always, I hope you have a good day, and for my fellow writers out there, keep writing!
