The little things... confusion?

Hello and welcome to another week of the little things!

First off, I'm excited to report that I've added another 10,000 words to my WIP! And I can also share that, as of writing this, I just finished chapter six of thirteen (Coming up on the halfway point!)

And now, on my continuing journey to learn how to market and self-promote efficiently... I'm afraid I have to say, I'm running into a bit of a wall. It feels like everyone, and everything is telling me to be unique, which makes sense. But I don't know how to be unique... efficiently? 

All along, I've been uniquely me, even when others told me that "you can't write/structure a book like that" but if marketing is a science, doesn't that mean there are rules? Ways to do it right or wrong?

I know this is far more unfocused than my "The Little Things" posts typically are, and I'm sorry about that. But frankly, this last month has been... odd, and my little things are leaving me with more questions than answers... for now.
