In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit that I am actually writing this post at about 1:00 AM the same day it will be going live, so please forgive any typos that my grammar checker may miss.
You may very well be wondering why I am writing this post so late, considering I should have written it a week ago... well, the answer to that, is also the story behind the title of this post.
Assuming you read my last post, you know that I have been struggling with deadlines. Frankly, I had hoped that if I only delayed writing this post by a few days, I would be able to share that I'd finished my first round of editing. But in all honesty, I haven't managed that yet, and, thanks to my deliberately messing with my schedule, I also forgot to write this post until this very minute.
So, with all that out of the way, let's move on to the little things I'm actually celebrating this month, shall we?
While I am behind schedule on this edit, I am excited to share that I have finished my first edit on seven of twelve chapters! Over halfway there!
And, with that in mind, I am also SO excited to share a word count update!
(Keep in mind, that Sheepish Beginnings, the longest book I've written to date, is 65,095 words long, COUNTING front and back matter. While this WIP has no back matter, and only a title page and table of contents for front matter!)
There is no question in my mind at this point, that by my next The Little Things post, I will have finished this edit, and I will have a new "longest book to date" to share. So, while I might be running a little behind schedule, and though my WIP isn't quite where I'd like it to be right now, I am incredibly excited about the potential for the future!
What about you though? What little (or not so little) things are you choosing to celebrate this month? Feel free to share them below so we can celebrate together!
Have a great day, and keep writing!
