As you most likely know (assuming you've seen some of my latest posts,) I've been working on a new standalone book; which means I've been working on research, to build up my knowledge and assure I'm in the proper mindset for actually writing.
Generally, when I'm working on research I'll build up a playlist of videos on specific subjects related to the book (such as fiber and dairy farming, for Letters From Counting Sheep Creek.) But when it comes to videos on story structure, tropes, and craft, I tend to drop them all into my Watch Later list, which is... well... a little bloated.
For my latest WIP, however, I decided to try something different. I went through all the videos by my favorite creators and made a WIP-specific list of all the subjects and tropes that I expect to run into in my new book. I also added any subject-specific research videos into this list.
The result? A very approachable list of videos that I've already finished watching! I'm actually tabbing my writing books right now, so I can do the same thing with them. And I couldn't be happier with this new trick!
