Welcome!

Big Changes in 2026

Hello again, and welcome to the last post of 2025... and the last post following my "old" social media calendar.

I mentioned briefly in my last The Little Things post that there were some big changes in store for 2026... and I want to clearly lay them out now, so you aren't surprised when my content changes; here or elsewhere.

Just to give you a quick idea of what is changing, here is my current social media posting schedule, which I first made in December of 2024:

And here's the one I've made for 2026:

The two biggest changes, as I'm sure you've noticed, are that I'll be tripling my weekly content on Instagram, while cutting back to once-a-month posts here.

There are a few very good reasons for that: as of posting this, I have very few regular readers in this space, but my Instagram posts have far greater reach. As of right now, I'm in a place where I really need to focus on refining my promotions so I can make sure I'm posting where my potential readers are. I know that might sound rather mercenary, but even Indie authors need to make a living, and a simple internet search will tell you how hard that is to achieve. Though I do plan to keep adding to my How to Write a Zebra series every fifth Wednesday... (with the exception of today.)

My main goal for this space is to refine it into a hub for all of my assorted social media author pages. That's why I changed the layout, and it also contributed to my decision to cut back on posting here so much. As far as my author blog, I will be making monthly round-up posts, basically a more in-depth version of my existing The Little Things series, but I don't plan to regularly post outside of that. I will be working on adding a "sales" page whenever I have active sales on my books, and in time, I plan to go through my blog archive and refine my labeling system/delete my older promo-only posts to make it easier to navigate my older posts.

As far as the content of my other social media accounts, I plan to spend a lot more time exploring behind-the-scenes/Zebra life/author life, and a whole lot less on basic book promos (AKA "please buy my book" posts.) Though even I am not certain exactly how all of that will look quite yet. If you'd like to explore this new journey with me, you can find the links for my other social media pages directly under the blog archive button.

So, for the last time in 2025, and the last time I'll be regularly saying this for the foreseeable future: Have a great day, and KEEP WRITING!!!
