Welcome!

My writing process-the first round(s) of editing

Hello again! I'm only one day late this time!

I'd be remiss if I didn't say 2 DAYS UNTIL BOOK 2 THE OF A Spy's Memory SERIES COMES OUT!!! Don't forget to check out my social medias to get in on the pre-release fun!

Now, it's probably time for me to get back to my series on my personal writing process, we'll be picking up where we left off; just after finishing the first draft.

I try to take at least a few days off to rest after finishing the first draft, but I'm back at it no more than two weeks later, (though I may swap out for another project depending on how my writing schedule looks.)

Edit #1. General cleaning, and fact-finding. Pretty much just me going through fixing any SUPER obvious errors and gathering info for the next edit. If I know something needs to be fixed, I'll do it, if I see anything I'll fix it, but otherwise, this is mostly an error hunt. I'll collect any recurring errors, or any really horrible plot holes that I'm not ready to fix I'll put them in a document I call my "action list" to address at a later date.

Edit #2. Spit-polish. At this point, I'll start to address any recurring issues, and to touch on my action list, starting out with whatever I feel ready for, and leaving the rest for my next edit.

Edit #3. Time to make it good. By now it's time to finish off my action list and fix any lingering issues with content.

Edit #4. Time for grammar. Now I'll run my WHOLE manuscript through my grammar checker, and pretty much accepting any grammar suggestions and considering any content suggestions.

I was going to go further today, but it's already getting pretty long, so I'll cut off here. Thanks for reading this far!

Have a great day, and keep writing!
