Welcome!

More tricks for writing with Google docs

Hello again!

You may vaguely remember a post from a little over a year ago, where I went over some basic tricks for writing a book with Google Docs (my online word processor of choice.) Well, the last year of writing and app advancements means I have a few more tricks to share with you!

1. Google Keep.

Google Keep is an amazing tool for editing. When I have several sentences to shift around at the same time, I can tuck them into Google Keep and physically drag them into place without all that copying and pasting, (which can get pretty tedious with more than one sentence at a time. It's also good for longer notes (Google Tasks is still my go-to for basic editing notes, but it can't show anything longer than a few words without shrinking it, which can be pretty annoying.)

2. Pageless mode.
You'll want to go into File, at the top right of the page, and then into page setup under that tab, to find this one. I, for one can get pretty focused on page/word count when I'm writing, but by setting up pageless mode, I can't actually see the true page count, so I find it's easier to focus on actually writing!

3. Hotkeys.
I know that hotkeys are nothing new, but I'm continuing to learn more of them all the time. And I must say, they do save a lot of time and fuss when you take the time to learn how to use them properly!

That's about it for me for this week! Every day I continue to learn how much writing isn't a science, but an art, one where we have to keep practicing and learning all the time, so I imagine I'll have more tips and tricks to share at some point in the future too!

Have a great day, and keep writing!
