Hello, and welcome to yet another addition to the little things!
I'll be completely honest here, I'd hoped to add something about my audiobook, but I haven't really gotten any farther on it since posting last. It's allergy season here, and I am quite prone to laryngitis, to begin with, so I'm struggling against my own weak voice to get any recording done. Not a great update, huh?
But, even with that rather underwhelming admission, I do have something exciting to share!
Now, I know you've heard a thousand times before that writing is a skill that we need to practice, to grow... (Heck, I even talked about that in my last post!) But, I feel like we so seldom hear the other side of that truth. So...
I do NOT write every day, and I don't believe I ever have, but even with the slightly inconsistent timeline of my writing since 2016, (roughly when I started writing The Shoreline of Memory.) I have grown so much. And, as I've been working my way through this edit, I've continued to be reminded of that. Every round of editing is cleaner than it had been with the last book, and that has been true with every book I complete.
Like everyone says, we DO need to practice our writing, but from personal experience, I honestly don't believe a few breaks, or "failing" to write every single day will hurt anyone's writing. And I know that due to writing regularly (the actual point behind the rule) I am finding it less and less difficult to keep up my writing habit (and even editing,) in the first place.
And... that's about it for me this week, (I know that it's a little shorter, and more lecture-y than normal.) What little (or not so little!) things are you excited about this week? Please feel free to share them below, so we can celebrate together!
Have a great day, and keep writing!
