I Love to Write Day?!

Hello again, and happy I Love to Write Day (yes this is a real thing, AND it's today!)

How incredibly appropriate is it that today also marks a return to my continuing celebration of the little things!

I am finally back to writing, or more specifically to drafting! As of writing this (Monday the sixth) I JUST started drafting book 2 of the Letters from Counting Sheep Creek series, and as modestly as I can hope to say this, it's going VERY well! I have a very rough draft of every chapter in the next book already set up, though I plan on cleaning up some of the details before getting to actually writing. (By the time you are reading this, however, I think I'll be getting back to actually writing again!)

Now, in honor of I Love to Write Day, how about one thing I LOVE about writing?

The things I learn. 

I wish I could tell you how much I've learned from my characters, but I don't even know where to start. Grace's bravery when faced with dangerous circumstances, and strength when her world falls apart, and John's optimism and positivity even when the world is just wrong. Emma's tenacity, and Jack's sense of humor, balanced with his practicality... I could go on, but I'll stop myself before I get too carried away.

I know they are technically fictional, but they are so real to me, and I can only hope to embrace a few of these traits myself.
