Welcome!

Trust yourself

Hello again!

This week I wanted to share a very simple piece of advice; Please trust yourself to make the right decisions for your book.

I know this might sound odd coming from someone who spends a fair amount of time celebrating Beta Readers, and who has an author toolkit full of helpful links... but I truly believe authors know what makes their story important.

It's easy to get bogged down with advice, creative writing expertise from experts, and other sources that seem to know what's best for every book. I will freely admit, that I've found myself doubting every single element of my books, thanks to contradictory advice I found plastered across the internet.

Only... I know what my books are supposed to look like. I know which elements are important to the story, even when countless strangers who will never read my book, disagree.

Please do learn from others; writers, critics, essayists, and the like. But please do not allow them to make you question your instincts as an author. Sharpen your senses, refine your skills, don't abandon them.

Have a great day, and keep writing!
